A household, not an account
An animal is looked after by more than one person, so the unit Talli is built around is a household rather than a login.
Registration creates the person, the household and the membership in one transaction, and other people are invited into it afterwards.
Four roles
Owner.
Everything a member can do, plus inviting people, changing roles, renaming the household and managing the plan. Exactly one person is the owner.
Member.
Can read and change the record: add pets, upload documents, record doses and edit anything already on file. This is the role for a partner or another adult in the house.
Veterinarian.
Can read the whole record, and cannot change the clinical record itself. For a veterinarian you want looking at results.
Viewer.
Can read the record and nothing else. Nothing they do can alter what is on file. For a sitter, a walker or a relative who only needs to look things up.
How an invitation behaves
An invitation is issued at a role and is bound to the address it was sent to, on both of the paths that can redeem it, so it cannot be forwarded into somebody else's account. It lasts 14 days. Invitations can be listed and revoked.
Ownership can move
Owner is not a role you can be handed. It is a pointer to exactly one member, and the only thing that moves it is a transfer, which moves the pointer and both roles in one transaction, so a second owner cannot be minted by accident.
A person can also create a further household and switch between them.
One thing worth knowing before you invite anybody
Talli is not running as a service yet, so nothing on this page has been used by a household that is not the one building it.
